feeling driven

I definitely have drive right now, I keep heading out and hiking 10 000 feet and then coming home. I can’t stop, well I will but I would like to hit 1.3 before this month is over. So I dream of 9 more ten thousand footers in the next 14 days. that’s possible as long as I stay driven. And its snowing now, actually dumping so it should be good skiing. It all depends on whether it clears for me, the clouds can really ruin the skiing since most of the goods are above tree line. Today I skied in Lopez trees and had decent powder turns but the once you hike up to it the laps were 800 feet, so I must have lapped it 9 times to hit 10440ft. That’s a lot of laps but I don’t have many options, so 25 minute laps will be the flavor again tomorrow.

Ahhh two days of rest

I promised myself that when I got to 1.2 million I would take two days off. My body is looking forward to two days of relaxation.

The last few days have been simply about getting to the mark, theĀ  snow has gone for to the worst and what good skiing there is has been up in the clouds. I have met two local ski tourers a few times now and they taught me a new spanish word Nublado, or cloudy. Here I am with Pablo and Chino.

My hair sure is looking long, and mulletish. Anyhow, not great skiing, with limited visibility but I stayed focused and am now over 60% done. Yahhhh, getting somewhere……still a tonne to go…. better stay focused…..no injuries…..more 10 000 footers…..keep after it…. and enjoy these two days off.

50cms forecasted for next monday and tuesday, which should revitalize my drive. Polvo..

A great day out in the mountains. Some people need coffee to wake up I prefer to solo ski steep lines. Up and up till I could get into the line on lookers right, fun steep and fast down to the valley. Up past the Frey Refugio and to the south side of Rocha Inclinada, leaning rock summit. I hoped to get on top but it looked a little beyond my safety co-efficient.

So 15 feetĀ  below the summit I skied a traversy south line down to the valley. It was soft and nice so I returned via another way and enjoyed it again. Midway up I finally saw my first condor, it was great to watch as it floated effortlessly on the thermals. It looked pretty large, bald eagle size for sure maybe a touch bigger. Looking at my photo maybe quite a bit bigger.

Anyways a decent solo day out running around, 10 680 ft of good times.
