Pretty much race time
Well I last night I did not have any catastrophic race dreams; generally I have a few dreams where al goes wrong. I am hoping that I learnt a lot last year and will be able to take that and apply it to this years race.
The conditions are looking to be quite burly, from high winds to snow and freezing temperatures. Basically mother natures worst. But whatever comes will come and I will be ready for it all.
Here is the website for the race 24hoursofsunlight.com
I know that they post the lap times so you may be able to tell how I am doing, I am hoping to average just under 42 minutes a lap. Staring a little quicker and finishing a little slower. But who knows.
during the race Frank and I are going to make small video to some how show what it takes to do the silly things I do. also to show the degradation of character as I mentally fall apart!
all for now. I will blog after the race.
THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT I PROMISE A FEW FEET TO ALL MY FRIENDLY SUPPORTERS.
Getting ever closer
Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with my blog but I have been traveling and getting things ready for this weekend. I am in Ogden Utah getting my skis for the race, Goode skis have made me a specific ski that should be 300-400grams lighter per foot than last year, that will be huge!! It will definitely be a psychological and physical advantage that will equal more vertical. The ski will weigh in around 700grams per foot plus bindings.
I am feeling good, Frank and I hiked up in the mountains today to get some acclimatization and I hope to get up to 11000 feet in the Wasatch tomorrow. Apart from that it is time to focus on all the small things that will make this race easier. Food, skins, bindings, boots, clothing and many other little things to deal with.
Again I am sorry I have not had much to write about but I will be back soon.
